iBday

I love online shopping!  I almost done with my kids Christmas shopping just from online shopping one night.  Something about relaxing in your pjs, looking for cheap prices, and knocking out quite a bit of shopping in one night makes me happy!  Do you do a lot of online shopping?  I can't really do clothes though online...I need to see them, feel them.  I still have lots of brick and mortar stores to hit before I am done, but it feels good to finally have a jump-start on my Christmas shopping!

This card has nothing to do with online shopping, but I love it nonetheless.  It too was submitted a while back for Paper Crafts Magazine and actually uses one of the Paper Crafts sketches from the big sketch call they had (but I didn't make it in time for that call).  Anyway it uses one of my favorite Monsters from Paper Makeup Stamps: Eye Pod.  The sentiment was printed by me (no stamp).

Did you hear that Paper Makeup Stamps is retiring all of their rubber?  They are going to an all digi company.  So if you want some of the awesome Paper Makeup images in rubber form, you can get them for 45% off with the code CLOSEOUT45!  You can read all of the details on the PMS Blog and then go fill your cart at Paper Makeup Stamps!

Until my next late post, thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

Muddy Pig

I feel like I am still catching up!  Now that I think about it, I am not sure how much I shared on here...my husband is a stickler about not announcing publicly when we go on vacation for obvious reasons.  But that means I have no idea if you even knew I was gone!  November has been a complete blur...we went on a 9 day kid-free vacation to Nicaragua (I will have to post about it later because it was amazing!), then we were home for a few days, then we went to Great Wolf Lodge which is an indoor waterpark resort up in Traverse City, Michigan, then we were home for a few days, then we went to my parents for Thanksgiving for a couple of days (and had to deal with my son getting the 24 hr flu on Thanksgiving!), and now I still feel like I am catching up!  So in my efforts of catching up, I realized I am behind on some design team requirements...so get ready for some posts!

We will start off with a card that I submitted to Paper Crafts Magazine (wasn't accepted obviously since I am posting it) for Mother's Day.  I am not usually not this early, so don't get any ideas that I have actually changed!  I used the sketch that was part of the call for my layout.  The cutie muddy pig and perfectly matching sentiment are from Hambo Stamps.  I had some other ideas to make with this cute pig, but ran out of time...maybe some day!

Are you ready for some more...be back later, the dirty dishes appear to have actually piled high enough to form a dirty dish figure that is calling my name.  A little creepy, so I best take care of that!  Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

Time for Some Summer

So are your kids out for summer yet?  My son does not get out until the 21st...crazy!  It will feel like a lot of summer is gone by then...although that is the first day of summer technically...so I guess we won't miss anything then!

How about a little summer inspiration?  Summer inspiration in the form of a Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop!  Sounds like fun, right?  You should be arriving from the ever sweet, Lisa M.  If not, make sure you start at the beginning at the PMS Blog.
This card is a Clean and Simple (CAS) card based on a sketch from a Paper Crafts call.  Why is it that CAS cards can be the most time consuming?!  I had to create this card like three times before it turned out.  That hurt too because it is obviously a one layer card...so I threw away a whole card each time...ugh!  Anyway it uses the still-awesome-always-going-to-love-it Dandy Wishes set from PMS.  The large and small silhouettes were embossed in black with my edges masked with Post-It notes.  Then I brayered ink over top, removed the masks, stamped my sentiment, and drew the black border.  Wow that made it sound so easy...guess easier said than done!

Well now you are off to the ever talented Tangii.  If you happen to get lost along the way, you can follow the link list below:

Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

A Whole Lot of PMS!

So I am finally catching up and feel the need to talk about some PMS....not the too much information kind of PMS, but Paper Makeup Stamps!  There is so much going on right now and it is all super exciting!!  So here is the breakdown:
1) First and foremost, Paper Makeup Stamps is having a DESIGN TEAM call.  So if you have ever thought about being on a design team (or want to add another to your list) and you love what Paper Makeup Stamps has to offer, check out the Application Information.  I have loved working on this team...a great owner and a very friendly and supportive team!  So give it a try!!  You only have until June 4 to apply!!

2) Freebie Fridays are Back!!!  Ok I will admit these were new to me...that means they did this before I was a member of the team, but basically, the owner, Katie, puts up a Free Digi on the PMS Blog every Friday (well most Fridays unless there is something else going on such as releases, blog hops, sponsorships, etc) for everyone to enjoy!  So far we have had a couple fantastic wordarts and there will be another one this Friday! So make sure to check the PMS Blog on Friday for the latest (and go back and snag the previous ones HERE and HERE before they are gone!).

3) PMS is sponsoring a bunch of challenges this month...which means a bunch of chances for you to win some Paper Makeup Stamps!  So here is the list:

Copic Creations Challenge #50:  Use Yellow ($20 Gift Certificate up for grabs) due May 31

Through the Craft Room Door Challenge #2:  Any Winged Thing ($15 Gift Certificate up for grabs) due May 31 (This is what my card above it for...details on my card below)

Fab & Funky Challenge #73: Make Your Own Blooms (3 Digi Images up for grabs) due May 24 by 10 pm (that is TONIGHT!).

Having Fun Blowing Bubbles

Finally getting around to working on some cards again. It is funny...it can be so hard to get started again after not stamping for a little bit. But yet it feels so good when I do get back into it! Kind of have to get over the hurdle of getting started so I can enjoy myself...totally makes no sense (and even less sense as I type it!).

This card is not one I did recently...instead this is a card I submitted to the Paper Crafts Go-To Sketches call. Unfortunately it (nor any of my others...insert sad face here!) was accepted, but this was one of my favorites! I used Bubbles the Duck from Paper Makeup Stamps (love this little guy!) and Sketch #79 from the Paper Crafts Sketches. He was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with markers and an aquabrush. I added some yellow fluff to his belly just to make him that much cuter!

Two of the separate bubbles are part of the stamp, but the rest of the bubbles I created. I punched out circles of Bashful Blue cardstock and then drew black lines around each one and added the "highlight" detail. Turned out pretty good, I think! I used an old rub-on for the sentiment and the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder for the background.

Here's hoping I can be extra crafty tonight! Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!
