I recently posted on the Paper Temptress Community Blog two cards. So far I showed you the graduation card in this POST, so now I have for you the 50th anniversary card that I made. I combined a couple challenges for this card. The layout is the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #193 and the card was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Trigger Tuesday: Classically Modern image. The layout had the diagonal cut background that I thought paired well with the print in the inspiration photo where is switches from blue on white to white on blue. So that is how my background came to be. I basically took a square of Iridescent Cryogen White (gotta have that sparkle!), cut it diagonally into quarters, and embossed each piece with the textile embossing folder. Then I took a sponge inked with Baja Breeze and gently rubbed it over the positive (bumpy) side of two of the pieces to give me the blue on white and then over the negative (side with depressions) side of the other two pieces to give me the white on blue. Kind of subtle, but I think pretty cool. My blue isn't the beautiful bright blue in the inspiration photo, but I didn't have brighter blue color in the amazing Glimmer cardstock from Paper Temptress that I wanted to use.
Juniper Berry Glimmer cardstock. Such a beautiful shimmer to this paper...you can see it better in the detail shot. After I added the ribbon and the swirly border of the Glimmer cardstock, it still needed something. So I went back to the inspiration photo and loved the radiating spikes from the center of the silver wall decoration. Couldn't figure out how to make spikes, so I added some rhinestones around my "50" to give that radiating effect. Well at least that is how it played out in my head!
Well I guess that is all for me. Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

Gorgeous! Fabulous design love the embossed quarters :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I just love your interpretation of the Trigger - especially the way you explained it. I learn so much from seeing how people are inspired by the Triggers! Can't get enough of those embossed numbers, and that lovely big bow :)
ReplyDeleteHey Andrea! Thanks for linking this up to this week's Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)
