Finally getting to chat about the other Friday news from Paper Makeup Stamps...the Friday Freebie! Where the owner, Katie, posts a FREE digi stamp, usually a wordart, for all to have. This week's digi is a perfect compliment to my beloved Monsters in my humble opinion.
I used the sketch from the current Clean and Simple Challenge #135 on SCS and the current Color Challenge #340 on SCS (although I did not have one of the colors listed, so I went with the closest I had!). I stamped Spike multiple times and then made the center one stand out...because after all he has to just Be Himself!! The "Be Yourself" digi was printed on my base cardstock.
Make sure to check out the PMS Blog every Friday to see if there is a new Friday Freebie! Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

Witchy Silhouette
Well hopefully our rough week is finally coming to an end. My poor daughter got sick this week, which resulted in breathing treatments galore (always goes straight to her lungs!) and hives...yup hives....viral hives...not hives from anything she ate or touched...just hives from her cold. I hate hives...never had them personally, but just watching them appear on her, growing into a giant covering full arm hive, and then disappearing a few hours later was just plain disturbing. Not to mention how hot they felt, how itchy she was, and just plain uncomfortable! But I think we are done with them now...we are working our way off of the Benadryl in hopes that they don't return. And then I got to celebrate my birthday yesterday as I am fighting the cold the kids gave me as a present! Aren't they just the best?! It was a good birthday, though, despite all of the craziness!
A couple of good things came out of Friday over at Paper Makeup Stamps! The first is that the Witchy Fairy and awesome Happy Halloween Sentiment are being sold separately from the October Kit (which is still available if you want some great Halloween papers and embellishments too!) for a limited time for a very low price! I love this fairy! You can see the announcement on the PMS Blog. I don't have the rubber version of the Witchy Fairy, but I did get the digi version. I am getting better with digis, but I do still find them more challenging than rubber stamping. Anyway, I created my own Silhouette from my Witchy Fairy Digi. One of the other Paper Makeup Artists, without double-checking I think it was Randee, has done this and I have been wanting to try it! So I printed her out and colored her in with a black sharpie...I had to go over her a second time though as the first pass still allowed you to see the lines of the image underneath. Then I cut her out and placed her over a circle hole on the front of the card...fulfilling the "Fill the Opening" Technique Lovers Challenge #342 on SCS.
Make sure to see how beautifully the Witchy Fairy can be colored too by checking out the PMS Blog. I will let you know about the Freebie Friday (the other good thing that came out on Friday) in another post. Until then, thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

Sympathy with Paper Temptress
Sympathy cards are one of the hardest cards...right along with masculine cards. Making a sympathy card for a family member is that much harder. But at least I can make it beautiful with Paper Temptress cardstocks.
Using the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #206, I combined a couple of different stamp sets to create my card. The quote which gives me peace when thinking about death is from the Beautiful You set from Verve Stamps. The butterfly image is from the Everyday Miracles set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The butterfly stamped in white over the Laser Black Glossy Lustre cardstock is stunning and then a little sparkle from the Amethyst Mica/Metallic cardstock just makes it that much more beautiful.
You can see my card and all of the beautiful creations by the Paper Temptress design team on the Paper Temptress Blog. Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!

A Pretty Little Blog Hop
My kids started school yesterday. My son entered 1st grade and my daughter started 3 year preschool. So I am actually going to have approx. 2-1/2 hours two times a week of quiet to get stuff done. Although today I realized how fast that time went by...gonna have to learn to be much more productive in a short period of time!
As I celebrate my kids starting school, Paper Makeup Stamps is celebrating the September Release with a Blog Hop! If you are on the Hop already, you should be arriving from Lisa Kind's Blog (did she color YOUR world?). If you haven't started the Hop yet, make sure to start at the beginning at the PMS Blog and collect your letters along the way to get the 15% off the entire release code!
I get to show you Arelia today. I love that she is being released separately from the Arelia's World of Make Believe Makeup Kit...I loved her back then, but never got her. Even better is that she is being released with a sweet sentiment. Now my daughter, so far, does not seem to be the dress-up type like Arelia, but I know a couple other little girls that fit this perfectly!
Now you are to hop on over to our fearless leader, Katie's Blog...but before you go take note of the letter I have for you:
Don't forget to join us (and bring friends to earn more chances to win some rubber) to the Release Party tonight in the PMS Forum at 9 pm EST. Until then, thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!
The Engineering Details
Stamps - Arelia (Paper Makeup Stamps); Paper - Creamy Caramel, Apricot Appeal, Apricot Appeal Pattern Paper (SU!), Iridescent Cryogen White (Paper Temptress), Dot pattern paper (DCWV), watercolor paper; Ink - Brilliance Graphite Black (Tsukineko), Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Pink Passion, Apricot Appeal (SU!); Accessories - Circle, Lacey Circles, Labels 16 Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Scallop Border Punch (SU!), dimensionals

When a Girl Wants More Sneak Peeks
So how have you been enjoying all of the Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peeks? What you missed them due to the holiday weekend...well then head over to the PMS Blog to catch up and check them all out. There is a chance for free stamps!
Today I get to re-show a Wordart that was released in a "Makeup Kit" previously, but is now being released as a single (the adorable Arelia fairy that is dressing up is being released too!). My favorite thing to do for wordarts is to color portions in different colors to highlight the words. Helps tie in all of my colors too! For my layout I used a Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #120 Sketch. Simple design, but you know I like it that way sometimes!
Now make sure to check out what the other designers have for you today by jumping over to the PMS Blog. Don't forget about the Blog Hop tomorrow (Sept. 7) and the Release Party at 9 pm EST in the PMS Forum. There will be lots of chance to win some goodies...bring some friends along to the party and your chances will increase!!
The Engineering Details
Stamps - When a girl Wordart (Paper Makeup Stamps); Paper - Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White (SU!), Elite & Stylish from Sultry Collection (Basic Grey); Ink - Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, Garden Green markers (SU!); Accessories - Pink Rhinestone brad (SU!), Big Scalloped Circles and Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Hot Pink Satin Ribbon (Offray), dimensionals

Most Beautiful Sponsorship
Taking a break today from the Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peeks to let you know about a sketch challenge that Paper Makeup Stamps is sponsoring (hint, hint, means there is a chance for winning some rubber!). Be sure to still bop over to the PMS Blog though to see today's sneak peeks.
So Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog has a great sketch for you...I think it was designed by our very own Lisa M! I was in need of a wedding card and I chose to use "The Most Beautiful Thing" wordart, but it did require me to turn the sketch. But that is totally allowed! I inked up the stamp with the different colors (my favorite technique for wordarts). I followed the sketch pretty closely, but I felt the need to add the ribbon...for some reason it helped me tie everything together.
Anyway, check out Paper Sundaes Sketch Challenge, get a little inky, and maybe you could win some new Paper Makeup Stamps! Here is to enjoying our last weekend before school! Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!
The Engineering Details
Stamps - The Most Beautiful Thing Wordart (Paper Makeup Stamps); Paper - Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White (SU!), pattern paper (??); Ink - Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie Markers (SU!); Accessories - Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon (SU!), Ticker Corner Punch (SU!), Orange Rhinestones (Me & My Big Ideas), dimensionals

Gimme a High Five for Sneak Peeks
We are gearing up for school finally around here. We start after Labor Day, so we get one last weekend off and then we jump head first into school! It was amazing how much my calendar exploded when I started putting in all of the school activities and after school activities in my calendar. Now I also have my daughter starting preschool, so I have her school's activities too. Serious explosion!
But before all of that begins, there is a bunch happening at Paper Makeup Stamps. We have a new release which includes a NEW Collection! This cutie-patootie is one of them. The Collection is called the Color Kids and are illustrated by Diem Pascarella (same one that draws the Retro Cutie Critters and the Fairies). The kids are super cute! I have the pleasure of showing you High Five. A sweet girl finger (or hand) painting and it comes with a sentiment that I shortened to just "high five" here. Be sure to check out the PMS Blog to see the other sneak peeks at the new Color Kids Collection...psst, there may be prizes involved. Keep checking in daily, hit the Blog Hop on the 7th, and then join us at the Release Party in the PMS Forum at 9 pm EST. The word on the street is that the more friends you "bring" to the party, the more chances you have at winning some prizes!!!
Thanks for checking out my kind of engineering!
